European Encounter at EEPLD: a day of exchanges with Frankfurt

Following a first meeting between students from various European Schools at the Eurosport event a few days earlier, our school had the pleasure of welcoming a new delegation at the end of March.

As part of their cultural trip to Paris, a group of 40 S6 students from the German and English sections of the European School of Frankfurt stopped by Courbevoie to discover our school and meet our students.

For the occasion, the S4EN students had baked cakes, while the school had organized refreshments to give our guests a warm welcome.

The morning began with an official moment, marked by a welcome speech from our deputy headteacher, Mr. Boudet, followed by an address in German prepared by our German LV3 students.

Later in the morning, it was time for sports activities: Mr. Essadi (PE teacher) organized a 4-on-4 volleyball tournament, while Ms. Bernard supervised a badminton tournament bringing together S5 and S6 students. These activities allowed mixed teams to be formed, encouraging exchanges and interaction between students from both schools. This sporting and friendly moment was particularly enjoyed by everyone.

The group then came together for lunch in the school canteen, before heading off to explore the artistic side of the La Défense district, guided by our arts teacher, Mr. Eckert.

The day concluded with an immersive visit to the “Notre-Dame” exhibition at the Cité de l’Histoire in La Défense. Equipped with virtual reality headsets, the students were able to explore the stages of the construction and restoration of this national treasure, alongside their German counterparts.

This wonderful shared experience bodes well for future exchanges and the development of new ties between our two schools.
