Today, on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, our S5 and S6 students from EEPLD had the fantastic opportunity to attend a conference at UNESCO HQ in Paris. The event prompted reflection on this statistic and many others, as well as discussions on ways to implement change towards – finally – closing the gender gap in science.
Our heartfelt thanks to UNESCO for inviting our school and providing our students with the chance to be part of such an inspiring event.

Education will undoubtedly play a key role in achieving this goal.

So, how about we start with making sure…to systematically include discoveries and stories from female scientists in our teaching material ? To reward excellent performance by our female students in STEM subjects ? To take action against any form of gender-based violence in our classrooms ?

This is definately what our school is acting towards, so one day gender and science won’t even be a question anymore 🙂
